Iva Remembered...what would she have been like?

Hey, great minds must think alike Arla because I was thinking of Iva also and had dug out the pictures so I could put them on the blog. I to have often wondered what she would have been like and how life would have been different had she lived. I always pictured her tall like myself with brown hair and brown eyes but athletic like you, and her personality would be much like yours and Arvins. Not sure why I picture her this way but I always have. Iva, although I never met you - you have never been forgotten. Vonda

Looking at the calendar I see that tomorrow is March 1 and it would have been Iva's 47th birthday if she had lived. I can't help but wonder what type of woman Iva would have been if she had lived and what her life would have been like.

I have a couple of pictures of her, but I don't know how to get them up on the blog, otherwise I'd put them up.

March is the month for birthdays in the VW family. Arvin, hope you have a great day on the 3rd! Leon and Dad, we will be gone over spring break when it's your birthdays, so hope you have great days on your birthdays!

Tournament

I made a deal with Aunt Vonda that I would write on the blog about the tournament. There were a total of four teams for the girls and four teams for the boys. The teams playing were Chandler, Edgerton Christian, and Fulda. The boys also played against Marshall and the girls played against Edgerton Public. The girls beat Edgerton Public but lost to Edgerton Christian and also lost to Fulda. The boys beat Marshall and Fulda but they lost to Edgerton Christian. Grandpa and i were to S Falls today to get things for the shop.Yesterday i saw Jason,Heather and Jeremy play BB up at school here.They all did a fantastic job. Last night we were to Travis's game at S W and tonight we go to another game of Travis at SW playing Hills -Bever creek.Tomarrow is the grade school tournament up at school--an all day thing selling lunches and dinner and also having a bake sale. Vonda is coming home for tonights game and also for the T tomarrow. Sunday we have our dinner in church and it is also our Pastors farewell. The blog looks great!And I totally agree with Jody. You all need to see that movie! When we were at the Pizza Ranch on Saturday my parents were talking to some lady and she was exactly like one of the Minnesota ladies on the movie. I couldn't stop laughing because they sounded exactly the same. Anyways you should definitely all watch it. I had a great time seeing everyone last weekend, even if we had to leave early because of the weather. I am so surprised we weren't snowed in for a week.:) And thanks for all the good food! Great movie!

Hi everyone! I've been meaning to tell you guys about this movie for a while but I just haven't gotten around to it. And maybe you've already seen it. But if you haven't u definitely should! It's sooo funny! Shane and I watched it with my parents a while ago and then he got it for me for my birthday and we've been watching it with our friends and his family and everyone loves it!! :) So its about small town Minnesota which is perfect! :) The movie is "New in Town". weekend!

We sure enjoyed our time in Chandler, even if it was cut short due to weather. I can't believe how difficult it's been this winter to get to Chandler.

It was great seeing everyone again and we really enjoyed watching Deidra and Travis' games.

We are glad we left when we did. We beat some of the wind, but not not all of it. Had some real "white out's between Sioux City and I-680. Heard they closed I-29 along there last night and today. So very glad we made it back safelywhen we did. Answer to many prayers!

Den has a church meeting tonight and then leaves tomorrow for a trip to AZ and gets back really late Wed night.

coming to Chandler!

Hi Everyone,
I just had a quick minute in between classes and lifting and I thought I would say hello since I haven't written on this in forever. Hope things are going well in Chandler! I'm really excited because I am finally coming to visit...as long as the weather lets me. :) I'm hopefully coming with some girls on the 13th to Travis's game and then spending the night in Chandler afterward and staying for lunch on Sunday! I really hope I can see all of you there! Everything at Dordt is still going great. Starting lifting and volleyball practice so staying busy with that and studying. I'm also going to be coaching a freshman AAU volleyball team with one of my teammates so I'm excited about that. Can't wait to see you all! Love, jana
