Just thought I would update the family with the news that Kevin (Wiz) is engaged and getting married August 20. So I think it is safe to say that it might have taken awhile but i have finally proved to the family that I AM NOT GOING TO MARRY KEVIN. ha ha ha ha

Jana there safely!!

Jana called and all her connections and flights went well. It was 7:30pm there when she landed, which was 11:30am our time. She still had to get her Visa and her luggage (hopefully it arrived) and then has a 3 hour van drive yet to the orphanage, so it will be a late night by the time they get there.

Hi everyone.

First of all...Happy 2nd Anniversary Jody and Shane!

Jana should be boarding her flight about now for Chicago and then they are supposed to leave for Amsterdam tonight. Amsterdam airport was closed this morning due to ash from the volcano eruption in Iceland. We heard it opened up again now, but if you would please pray for Jana's safety as she flies and that all her connections may go smoothly, especially if Amsterdam would close again and she would have to be rerouted.

We are thankful for answered prayers in that Scott and Jana both have jobs lined up for the summer once Scott gets clearance from the Dr. for his knee and once Jana returns from Africa! Scott will be working for Central College on the athletic grounds like he did a couple of summers ago and Jana has baby sitting jobs lined up for two days a week and cleaning hotel rooms at the Holiday Inn 3-4 days a week.

World's Record Holder's

Hi everyone,

I wrote a big long blog and I see that it never got published for some reason so I will try again.

We are sorry to hear about Zoe. How scary. What is ITP? Please keep us informed and we will certainly keep all of you in our prayers.

Well Den, myself, Jody and Shane and Jana and Mark are all World's Record Holders! We helped set the record at 10:30 this morning for the most people dutch dancing in wooden shoes at one time! There were 2,800 registered dancers all double and tripled lined up all around the square. It was a lot of fun, but we missed Scott as he was not able to dance due to his big brace. His leg has to stay completely straight in this brace for the next 3 1/2 weeks, so dancing or anything else for that matter is off limits until he sees the Dr. again on May 27.

We had a FULL basement last night as Jody and Shane were here along with Jana and all her high school friends and a bunch of her friends from Dordt. Then a bunch of her high school friends also had friends home from college with them so we had kids from Dordt, NW, Calvin, Trinity, Truman and UNI here. It was fun.

We came back after our dancing and will head back to the afternoon parade here shortly. It is rather cold and windy, but at least it's not raining.

Arvin called me from Orangs City this morning and said they were starting Zoe on i v.Danielle just put on f b that she is sleeping now but she said the side effects could cause her to get sick from this.Her platelet count last evening was 7 and rose to 25 but went down again this morning to 15. I'm sure everyone is praying for Zoe and her parents.G grandma
