Happy 25th Birthday Jody.

We know you think you are getting old, but from our perspective, you are VERY young! For sure from your Dad's perspective as he's the big 50 you know :)

sleep doctor

I went to the "sleep doctor" today and had a consultation and scheduled my sleep test for Febuary 4th. Like any doctor he asked 1001 questions and reviewed this whole questionaire that i had to fill out before hand and stated "if he was a betting man he'd bet I had a form of sleep apnea" but obviously we have to do the test first.

Other then that --- nothing is new here.
I thought with my post about the sleep doctor that it would be appropriate to put a picture of me sleeping on the blog.

SWCH game

I went to SW and watched Travis play ball tonight. The following are pictures and videos from the game. The one of Jeremy was taken at half time and he won a pizza. I believe Travis ended the game with 15 points.

WHAT A FUN DAY THIS WAS.......

relaxing in the outdoor pool
I remember that Loren made it all the way from the top of the hill to his head literally hitting the house.

Danielle - what kind of face is that?

Jody, you are almost to the end - you better put on the brakes.

TRAVIS JAY VANDER WOUDE

Well, Travis Jay I hope the day went well for you and that you were able to enjoy it with your framily and friends. I wish I would have been able to be there and witness your Profession of Faith in church but figured it was best I stay home and rest.
I just wanted to let you know that I love you and am very proud of the young man that you are becoming. In todays atmosphere it isn't easy to stay the course with what you believe and to stand up for what you know is right, but seeing how you interact with others and the talks we have shared has proven to me yet again, that you are becoming a great Christian man. Everyone knows that there are struggles and challenges in high school but I have no doubt you will face them with conviction and intelligence.
I am very happy to know you have chosen to publicly profess your faith and become a full member of the church.
Love ya bunches, Vonda

survived Den's 50th!

Hi everyone,

I sure enjoyed all the basketball videos of the kids. Fun!

We had a fun weekend celebrating Den's 50th Birthday! Friday I had a surprise birthday party for him at work and then Saturday night Jana and 9 of her friends surprised him here. They hid in our basement and about gave him a heart attack when he went down stairs and they all popped out yelling "happy birthday"! The girls just laughed and laughed at him as they said he kind of crouched down with his knees and came up with both hands about ready to swing! I wish I could have seen it! :)

Den is gone to Las Vegas for 4 days on business.

Scott got home this morning from his mission trip in New Orleans.

Jana has a couple of games this week, so that should be fun.

Our bodies are here, but our thoughts are almost always in Milwaukee with Shane and Jody! It's nice knowing that our prayers are just as effective here as they would be if we were there with them in Milwaukee. :)

Love,
Arla

ballgames - ballgames - ballgames

Mom and I met up in Adrian and then road together to Worthington to watch the Chandler Chrisitan Grade school teams play in a tournament. The boys and girls each played 3 games.

Heather gets the foul on this video and the next one shows her making a free throw.

Calm and as cool as a cucumber... no sweat for this chick.

Check out the teamwork of Jason and Jeremy

Jason giving it all he's got on defense.

Jason sinks a free throw and gets a good job from Jeremy.

JEREMY GETS A THREE POINTER ( You don't see it was him shooting it as all I got was the ball in the air )

JASON ALSO HAD A THREE POINTER BUT I MISSED THAT ONE AND DIDN'T GET ANY OF IT ON VIDEO :(

It was alot of fun to watch the games and hope to catch somem ore games at the Chandler tournament.

I will be traveling to Chandler next weekend for Travis's profession of faith and will also be able to watch Deidra and Travis play that weekend. So lots of ballgames in the future for me.

Love ya all and hope you enjoy the videos.

procedure

I had the breast biopsy done today --- it was a rather unique procedure as they used mammography to aid in the finding of the lump and getting a good core biopsy of it. I should find out the results next Monday or Tuesday. Other then that nothing is new here - it is cold, cold, cold.
I plan on going to Worthington on Saturday to watch Jason, Heather, and Jeremy in a basketball tournament.
Love ya all, Vonda

a little of this and a little of that

I am finally back into the land of the living. Today was my best day in a long long long time. So I will be going back to work tomorrow. I had my mammogram today and they also did an ultrasound on the breasts to better see the areas that were detected in the Cat scan. The left one had 3 cysts and she was not concerned about those - and the right one had a lump that was seen on the Cat scan, and mammagram but they could not get a good picture of it with the ultrasound so were unable to biopsy it at that time. They are going to schedule an appointment to have it be biopsied and they will do it with the help of a mammagram to guide them to the lump. ( I don't get it either but that is what they are going to do) She doesn't think it is cancer but with my history she doesn't feel safe with not biopsying it either. I totally agree with her. I don't know what that procedure will be yet and they have not scheduled me for the sleep apnea test yet either ---- so if I haven't heard by nexst week I will call them again.

I WAS SO CUTE!

Shane and Jody I will be thinking and praying for both of you tomorrow as you meet with the surgeon. Please continue to keep us updated.

hi

HI everyone,

Kind of hard getting back into the routine after such a long Christmas break. We sure had fun at the hotel in Worthington. It was great seeing all of you! What fun times and special memories!

Tony and Danielle, doesn't sound like you had the best trip back. Sorry to hear about that.

Vonda, its wonderful your test results came back clear, now we just pray this vitamin D or sleep test will be the problem and you can do things to start feeling better.

It's been quite a week over here finding out about Shane's heart test results. Sure is hard being 5-6 hours away from them. I know we can't do any thing to change it, but it sure would be nice to be there to at least give them a hug. Please continue to keep them in your prayers as they meet with a surgeon on Thursday morning. Pray that they may feel the Lord leading in the different decisions they will need to make and that they may feel His comfort and presence at this time.

Scott is in Cedar Rapids taking three days of classes for his coaching endorsement and then will be going to New Orleans January 12-17 on a mission trip to help clean up after the hurricanes several years ago.

Jana had her first game back last night after Christmas break. They won a close one. She was stick this past Saturday and Sunday, so it was nice to see her feeling better.

Take care,
Arla

Vonda

Hey everyone, I just thought I would update everyone on how I was doing. I think the pills are finally starting to work. I sitll sleep 12-14 hours when I go to bed but haven't take an afternoon nap for the last 3 or 4 days. I was suppose to start cuttin back on my vitamin D pills today but i talked to the nurse and she had it ok'd to keep taking it everyday for another 2 weeks before i cut back. So i am happy about that. I have the mammorgram on Wednesday - and theya re calling me tomorrow to set up the sleep test. I am not going into work till Thursday.

Shane --- what did you find out today? Any decisions made about what type of suregery or when it will be. Just remember we are thyinking and praying for both of you. Vonda
