I think everyone knows who they are but just to clarify they were both great friends of mine in high school and Cindy is the sister to Tami Zavenbergen (for the Pella reference).
Anyway, for the last 2 years they have been foster parents to twin boys - they would have them for a few months then the mom would get them back.. and this cycle has pretty muuch repeated itself for two years. Needless to say they have grown quite attached to them and was quite emotional the last time they left to go back to their birth Mom. They had talked to the Mom quite some time ago about adopting the boys but nothing ever came of it. Today (Tuesday) the birth mom was to get permanent custody of the boys whose names are Sam and Robert, but yesterday she came to Tim and Cindy and asked them to adopt the boys. They were/are SHOCKED! and said YES! So as CIndy puts it "I am getting 2 little 4 year olds for Christmas. Cindy's Mom, Thelma's reaction was "you mean WE get to keep them". The two boys have had a close relationship with Gary from the beginnning Cindy said - so Gary and Thelma are thrilled as obviously they have grown to love the two boys over the last two years.
Just a great Christmas story - so wanted to share with all of you.
