Well, Shane definately wins for the most wires and contraptions attached to a body. However, I thought you'd still be interested in seeing what I looked like during my sleep apnea test. This is with just about everything I had to sleep with that night. You can't see it but there were about 6 electrodes on my head, and I also had wires going down and hooked onto my legs. Then right before I was actually going to bed they hooked two more straps around my chest and then I had to wear a piece in my nose (like oxygen tubing). I did not have as bad of night as Shane did (thankfully) but Arla (since she had to sleep with me for years) can apprciate the fact that the sleep tech had to come in 3 times during the nights to reposition the wires since I moved so much. She did say that according to their monitors I got "good sleep" in the morning hours. So I will hear the results in the next two weeks. I had to wacth a short video before i went to bed that night and it said that the average sleep test ersults in 800 pages of documenation. YIKES!
So do to the fact that I didn't sleep much that night I am tired and coming down with just a slight cold so I have decided to do the "adult and mature thing" and stay home this weekend and stay healthy. So no basketball games for me this weekend :( I jsut can't risk getting run down and missing more work.
Now on to Shane and Jody. I call Grandma everyday or she calls me and keeps me updated on Shanes progess since I wasn't around my computer much those first few days. You have both been in my thoughts and prayers constantly. Shane praying for you as you recover from such a major surgery. I pray you continue to improve, stay on top of the pain, and that the fever stays under control and that the heart beats in normal range. I (an expereinced surgical patinet myself :) can't imagine a surgery like you have just udnergone. I know it won't always be easy but keep your spirits up and know that you are loved and people will help you in what ever way they can. It isn't always easy to ask for help but remember it makes people who care about you feel good when they can help you out. Now on to you be dear nice Jody Lynn - I can't imagine what it is like to be the one that has to sit beside her husband and watch him go through this surgery, pain and recovery process. Alot of times people focus so much on the patient they forget that the loved one by the patients side needs our support just as much. So being so far away, not being able to visit, and just give you both a hug I guess this blog will have to do. You are both loved very much and the prayers from family, friends and people you don't even know are constantly going to the Lord to watch over you both and give you strength to get through the nest hour, days and weeks.
For some reason i can't post on your blog so I figured you would look here during the day and be able to read this to Shane.
