Dr. Tim Mulders opinion

Most of you know that Tim Mulder is a friend of mine from high school so I sent him an email about my health issues to get his opinion. I gave him a real quick overall reivew of the last week or two and this is the response that I got. ( I forgot to tell him about the allergic reactions )

The Alk Phos being elevated is quite common with anything from viral illness to cancer. If this is the only elevation of the liver enzymes, I doubt whether it will amount to much. This enzyme is also found in muscle and bone and can elevate with any damage or injury to those. I don't usually get too excited about this test unless it is 2-3times the normal range. If you are worried about it at all I would simply have it tested in 2 weeks. If the pain continues it may be a sign that the gallbladder is giving some trouble.if you still have one of those. If the pain continues I would certainly follow up with ultrasound and repeat liver tests. I'm sure that your physician wanted to wait the 30d to make sure that it had completely returned to normal. In 2 weeks if it is elevated, but not as much as before, you may have a dilemma. Do you wait or do you perform other studies right away. She is may be trying to save you the headache and cost of further testing.

"Who of you can add a single day by worrying?" That is said by someone who has a hard time taking his own advice!!!

Go with God!

Tim

I got that response from him tonight but had already scheduled an appointment with another doctor. Due to the fact that I have Mckennan hospital insurance now...I get a deduction in my medical bills if i go to a doctor associated with McKennan hospital. So i figured this is as good as time as any to switch. I meet with her next Wednesday the 3rd (i think it is the 3rd - I know it is Wednesday ) So it will be for a second opinion - just as much as letting her know i will be her new patient going forward.
