A weekend of traveling...

Hi All,

Well, there is not much new going on in Orange City, other than classes starting in 8 days. This means that more and more people are coming on campus, so we can definitely tell that it is getting busier around here.

This past weekend I was able to go to my friend Tianna's wedding in Oostberg, WI. For those of you who don't know, Tianna was my roommate freshmen year and a personal attendant at our wedding. She is one of my very good friends, who unfortunately lives 8 hours away. Well, Jess was not able to take off work, so I took the 8 hour journey with three college friends in on of their vehicles. We left at about 10:30 Friday morning and got to Oostberg at about 6:30 pm. We stayed at a friend's parents house and they were really wonderful people and made us feel rigt at home. We got to see Tianna and she showed us her and her husband's (Peter) new home. Saturday morning we walked the beaches of Lake Michigan, which was really wonderful!

The wedding was at 2pm, and a little something about Wisconsin weddings... they often have the ceremony and then a 3-4 hour break and the reception, so the bride and groom can take pictures, etc. Well, for us out of towners, this was kind of frustrating, but it was still fun. Well, one of the friends I rode with had to be back on campus on Sunday afternoon, so we left at 9:30pm and traveled through the night!! It was really fun and I can say that I enjoyed my first energy drink and they really do work, because I didn't sleep at all, until we got back at 5:45am.

Oh, another thing about Wisconsin: They have got to have the most annoying system for naming roads. All of the County Roads are labeled with letters!! How ridiculous! We were on V, F, D, B, and we saw craziness such as PPP, NN, EF, and AS. Needless to say we had a good time mocking Wisconsin on our journey across the state (no offense, Shane).
