A "family" weekend...

Hi All,

In response to Vonda's post:

I guess if Jeremy ever gets in trouble with the law we will know who to blame... (that crazy aunt of his)! Sounds like you two had a lot of fun! Did Wiz figure it out?

Way to go, Travis! Enjoy the extra playing time and experience!

It was a good weekend for the two of us in Orange City. Friday night we were able to meet up with Jess' family in Rock Rapids to celebrate his sister's 17th birthday. And Saturday we were able to spend much of the day with Mom, Dad, and Deidra. SWC had a volleyball tourney at Unity, so we watched all their games, which was awesome! They won the tournament and looked really good, but I must say it made me really miss playing competitive sports (especially volleyball)!

Dad biked all the way down to Orange City, so he left Chandler at 6:00 am and got to OC at about 11:20 am. It was a beautiful day and he couldn't miss out on the opportunity! After the tournament, we went to the Pizza Ranch, played some pinochle (Mom and I dominated the men, something like 150 to -130), and attempted to talk to Danielle and Tony via webcam on our Skype accounts. Unfortunately, it was not working too well (probably because of the poor internet connection), so we resorted to talking on the phone and looking at eachother on the webcam.

It was fun having family here because we have not been back to Chandler in a long time and hadn't seen my Dad since we brought Danielle and Tony to the airport at the beginning of August! I guess that's what happens when you get older...

I never thought much about all the stuff I miss out on, but now that I have been "out of the house" for a couple years I am really starting to miss being at Sunday dinner every week and going to everyone's games and activities. Here I go getting all sentimental (sorry if I make you cry, Grandma).

We WILL be in Chandler this coming weekend, so we are looking forward to seeing whoever is around at Sunday dinner! Hopefully you all have a great week and see you soon!

Love,
Darci

p.s. I would like to be the first to wish Jeremy a Happy Birthday for tomorrow! Enjoy the day, buddy!
